They marched straight to a high-limit baccarat table where the minimum bet was $500. The dealer slid the cards across the felt like it was nothing.

Brettski bet $1,000 on Player.
Robby bet $1,000 on Banker.
The cards flipped.
Player: 8. Banker: 2.
Win.
Just like that, Brettski was up.
The heater continued. Hand after hand fell their way. The chips stacked higher and higher until the dealer pushed them a tower worth nearly $18,000.
Robby leaned back laughing. “We’re printing money.”
But casinos have a way of hearing things like that.
The next thirty minutes were brutal.
Natural banker wins. Painful ties. A devastating double bet that collapsed their stack in seconds.
Their mountain of chips melted away.
